Don’t go to Brussels, they said. My trip to Brussels and other cities across Europe in the shadow of global upheaval has taught me to be brave. Vibrant bohemian Brussels was nothing I expected and wonderfully surprising. Fear is a thief. It steals your hopes, dreams, and ambitions. My life and world view are vastly richer for having traveled. My eyes are open and I see that life is for the living and wasted on the timid (maybe not wasted...but you know what I mean). So here goes me, I am terrified of being eaten alive by creatures great and small. Therefore, Africa, Australia, Brazil, etc., are not places that I long to visit. However, for the first time, I am contemplating a life-threatening adventure. I am almost positive this contemplation will not last...but...still...that’s growth. There is so much to see and do; I am eager not to remain standing still.
What brave thing have you done lately? I would love to hear from you.
