Are we on a collision course with the sun? What would Neil Degrasse Tyson say?

At present, our planet and its inhabitants seem to be under threat. We ushered in 2020 with the COVID-19, locust plagues, raging fires, floods...and I could go on but do not wish to depress you. Still, I remain calm and optimistic about our chances of survival. Our planet has survived plagues throughout history and many other natural and unnatural disasters. I imagine that depending on the crisis, people thought they were living in end times. However, the earth continued to orbit the sun and here we stand ready to witness 2020’s history. Will earthlings 100 years from now remember this time? I doubt it. I was recently reminded that “History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is new. Sometimes people say, “Here is something new!” But actually, it is old; nothing is ever truly new” Ecclesiastes 1:9-10.

I encourage you to take the necessary precautions to keep you and your family safe. It is important to be aware of what is going on in the world around you, but don’t panic. Make science and faith your best friends. If you believe, pray...if you don’t, hope. Focus on the survival stories.

Also, wash your hands….my o.c.d will not allow me to contemplate that people were not washing before. You will be alright.

I invite you to like, subscribe, and comment.
